PEACE SIGN explores a rich and colorful period during the 1970s. Much of what has been written about this period falls into one of two polarized categories— either Woodstock, Jimi Hendrix, and funky VW vans…or Viet Nam, body bags and muttering helicopters.

The vast majority of the baby boomers, however, didn’t go to Woodstock and didn’t come back in a body bag. They were, however, confronted with a profound splitting of the country. Fathers against sons…brothers against brothers, and sometimes even mothers and sons became enemies.

This book follows the course of two roommates who are placed in this crucible. One becomes an enlisted man, in Japan, the other goes through officer training and pilot training. Their once convergent lives, diverge drastically and we see after one year how drastically they have changed.

Although this is a work of fiction, Harvey has experienced both the collegiate world of finals and term papers and Led Zep…as well as the other side…officer training, pilot training, flying jets and serving as an LES, launch-enable officer for the Titan II missile.

Once you get into the book, if you have a question for a particular character, visit the Ask the Characters – Submit a Question section and…ask the character anything you like.  That character will respond directly to you.  The best, most interesting or intriguing questions will be posted.
